Audrey passed away peacefully on February 24, 2006 with family present. She will be greatly missed by her family and her large circle of treasured friends. She was a Portland native, born on January 11, 1918 to Russell and Augusta (Armour) Goff. Audrey met Raymond F. Trappen at Ferris State University and they married on July 20, 1940. They were preceded in death by sons Russell and John. Ray preceded Audrey in death in 1986. She enjoyed the geneology of the area and had a wealth of historical knowledge. Audrey was retired from the State of Michigan and with Raymond owned and/or operated restaurants, including Ray’s Grand River Café. She was a member of the Portland United Methodist Church and Portland VFW. Ray and Audrey were benevolent people who included many other children in their fold. Her family includes Marcia Trappen of Lansing, Laurie and Russell Rising of Traverse City and Phoenix, Peter and Georgina Trappen of Grand Ledge, and James and Kimberley Trappen of Grand Ledge, as well as 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Siblings include Warren Goff of Portland and Maurice and Barbara Goff of Florida.
