Everett Eugene Underwood of St. James, Mo passed away at his home on Friday, October 3, 2014. He was 84 years, 5 months and 28 days of age.
Gene Underwood was born on April 5, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to his parents; Borden and Naomi Gibbons Underwood. Gene Underwood was united in marriage to Beverly Gail Bullock in the 1st Baptist Church in St. James, Mo, in 1951.
Gene Underwood retired as a computer logistics specialist with the federal government. Gene was very community and civic minded. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. James and helped deliver meals to the home bound for the Golden Age Center. He was a veteran and served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. Gene helped with obtaining and refurbishing the Friendship School House Building for the American Legion Post 607 in St. James. He will be sadly missed.
Gene Underwood is survived by his wife: Beverly Gail Bullock Underwood; one son: Gary Underwood and wife Linda of Manitoba, Wisconsin; and one daughter: Lisa Livingstone of St. James, Missouri , sister-in-law Virginia Underwood of St. James and three grandchildren: Corey Underwood, Kayce Deshotels and Kelly Underwood and eleven great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Gene Underwood is preceded in death by his parents: Borden Underwood and Naomi Vetter who entered into rest March 31, 1998 and one brother: Bernard Leland Underwood who passed away in June 21, 2008.
