TAUNTON – Evelyn (Bettencourt) Magina, wife of the late Francis Magina, died at home peacefully, surrounded by her family on Feb. 10, 2011.
She was 97.
Born in North Dighton, the daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Sylvia) Bettencourt, she was raised and educated in the Taunton area and later worked in Taunton area nursing homes as a nurse’s aide.
She retired at the age of 72.
Mrs. Magina was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church and enjoyed Bingo, crocheting and trips to Foxwoods.
She leaves a son, Bruce Magina of Taunton; three daughters, Lola Terry of Taunton, with whom she made her home, Joyce Bettencourt and her partner Jane Begin of CT, and Janice Magina, of Taunton; three grandchildren, Johnny Terry, Angela Pelletier and Jennifer Magina; four great-grandchildren, Jada and Jasmine Lucier, and Amie and Koby Souza; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial with cremated remains present will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Church, on Friday, Feb. 18th at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beacon Hospice, 182 N. Main St. Fall River, MA 02720.
Arrangements are by the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway.
