Evelyn Bartle, 77, of Kelliher, MN, died Friday, October 6, 2006 in Bemidji, MN. She had been a resident of the Kelliher Care Center for many years. Evelyn was born September 7, 1929 in Baudette, MN to Leo and Nellie (McNevan) Bartle.
Evelyn never married and did not work out of the home. She helped her mother Nellie Bartle with the business on Main Street in Baudette from 1947 until her mother sold the business. They accommodated a number of other lodgers and businesses in the building throughout the years and lived in the apartment until 1982. Nellie sold the building in 1984 to two local businessmen, Bob Rinehart and Jeff Bauers. Evelyn attended First Congregational Church in Baudette, MN.
Evelyn moved the Kelliher Care Center and has been a resident for many years.
She was preceded by her parents Leo and Nellie Bartle; her brothers, Donald and George Bartle; her uncle, Jack McNevan and her special friend, Cal Dufrene.
She is survived by her sister in-law, Ina Mae Bartle of Seattle, Washington.
