Mrs. Fitzgerald, 93, died Friday, December 17th, 2021, in Spring, TX.
Eunice loved the Lord Jesus and served Him and her big family well. She will always be remembered for her warm hospitality and making delicious meals for us to eat. A favorite dish she loved to cook was her “Company Chicken”. Mom was a Proverbs 31 kind of woman. She was a member of Cherokee Baptist Church in Memphis, TN and loved teaching children, having taught kindergarten there for a several years. During their retirement years, they moved back to Meridian and attended Westwood Baptist Church, where she had the opportunity to teach a ladies Sunday School class. Her life verse was Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.” She lived her life in such a way that pointed people to Jesus and now she has stepped into eternity and seeing Him for the first time. She received the greatest gift of all this Christmas, JESUS.
She is survived by her daughter Shelia Hauser (Tom); her son Gary Fitzgerald (Debbie Hackett); 6 grandchildren Marcie Downing (Richard), Jennifer Smith (Dirk), Brooke Shepperd (Jason), Tommy Hauser (Julie), Rachel Crumpler, and Felix Fitzgerald. She was also blessed with 19 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Clifton William Fitzgerald; her parents John and Myrtis Starnes; two brothers J.W. and Frank Oren Starnes, along with a sister Mary Lucile Benson.
