Klumb, Eugene Age 94, passed away on October 16, 2022. Born July 25, 1928 to Gustave and Martha Klumb. The youngest of seven children, Gene was a modest farm boy raised in South Dakota where he learned the indelible values of faith, family and hard work that would guide him throughout his life.

In 1951 Gene enlisted in the Air Force, he was the Honor Graduate of his class. While at Travis Air Force Base, he was introduced to the love of his life, Berenice. Their love story would span over 66 years. They enjoyed over 30 years of retirement together as snowbirds traveling between their homes in Bradenton, FL and Plymouth, MN.

Gene fulfilled his life-long dream of flying, both private and commercial aircraft. Gene’s profession enabled him to travel the world. He had invaluable knowledge and ability but remained humble and true to his family and his beliefs. He had an intrinsic determination to help others no matter the circumstance or burden. He was a faithful servant to our Lord.

His life was centered around his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife and a loving father to his daughters. His six grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren made his life complete. Gene’s passing leaves overwhelming sadness in the hearts of his family and friends. He leaves a legacy of strength, intellect and kindness.

Our family wishes to express our deep gratitude to the staff at Homewatch Caregivers, Home Instead and Lyngblomsten for their care and compassion.
