Ethel  M.  Stock, 82, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Sunrise of Cascade,  Grand Rapids, Michigan. 

Ethel was born on the Rathert farm in Berger, Missouri on February 16, 1933, the daughter of the late Theodore William & Naomi Charlotta (Coulter) Rathert.

Ethel attended grade school at Good Hope School and then attended Hermann High School where she graduated in May of 1951.  She was raised and confirmed in the Immanuel Methodist Church of Senate Grove.

On November 22, 1951 she was united in marriage to Howard Edward Stock at the Hermann United Methodist Church.  Howard preceded her in death on September 4, 1991.

Ethel was a member of Hermann United Methodist Church, where she was a life member of the United Methodist Woman.  She was also a member of the church choir and taught Sunday school for 33 years and was a member of the adult Sunday school class.  She was a life member of the Gasconade County Bible Society,  and a member of the Loutre Shore Country Club from its beginning until 2004.  She was the first secretary of the Hermann Jaycee Wives and was president of the Jaycees in 1961.

She worked for Fritz Auto Parts as the office manager for almost 20 years and then later worked for S & T Building and Management Company in Hermann. 

Ethel is survived by a sister-in-law Marion Rathert of Washington, Missouri, a niece Debra Ann Saunders of Washington, Missouri, a nephew Dean Rathert & wife Gina of St. Louis, Missouri, a niece Denise Koeper & husband Jeff of Ada, Michigan, a nephew Kirby Rathert of New Athens, Illinois and a niece Kim Schaefer & husband Gene of Rolla, Missouri,  and by many great nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers Eldon (Bud) & Merlin Rathert.
