Esther Melissa Saegert “Peggy” passed away on Monday , March 12, 2018 at the age of 93.
Peg was born the oldest of 8 children to Luther and Laura Voshell in Grant County, South Dakota on November 26, 1924. She met and married her knight in shining armor, a military man, Wilford Saegert “Will”. Together they had two sons Jeff and Greg. They owned and operated Tony’s Pizza for over 20 years in Pascagoula, MS, a business she continued to operate after his death. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxillary, Antique Angels and Krewe of Tri-City. She was a people person and had a zest for life. She loved dancing, singing, cooking, baking, making jam and working in the flower beds. She will be missed greatly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Greg and 5 siblings, Geneva Patie, Marvel Edsill, Arlene Kunkle, Ferne “Carol” Petre, Ivan Voshell and Arvid “Bud” Voshell.
She is survived by her son, Jeffery Saegert Sr. and his wife Terri of Long Beach, MS; daughter-in-law, Dot Saegert of Lucedale, MS; sister, Patricia Ann Vorwald and her husband Lloyd of Holy Cross, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, Joseph, Ben, Amy, Jeffery Jr. , and Justin; 11 great grandchildren; long-time friend, Amos Robinson and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
