Ernest G. Abdalah, of Foxborough, formerly of West Roxbury passed away unexpectedly in Florida on February 9, 2023. He was 67 years old.

Ernie graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1973 and was currently working to help organize their 50th reunion.  He also attended Wentworth Institute of Technology.  Known affectionately as the Egg Man to some, even today, he worked alongside his father for Abdalah Brothers, the family business that delivered eggs to many restaurants in the Boston area.  In later years, while driving around Ernie could often be heard saying, “we delivered eggs there”, then followed it up with some interesting and funny story about his interactions with the owners and others that worked there.  Ernie was employed as a truck driver for many years for Todesca Equipment Company.  He also worked as a limousine driver for a few years and loved to tell stories of the times that he drove Tom Petty and Michael Bloomberg’s mother, which he did frequently, and assisted in driving Oprah Winfrey’s entourage to the Vineyard.

Ernie was fun loving and a devoted friend to many, some whose friendships began over 50 years ago.

Known as Uncle, Ummu or Unkie, Ernie shared a unique and special bond with each of his nephews and nieces.  Ernie was truly a people-person who treasured each and every relationship that he had.  He will be sorely missed.

Ernie was the dear and devoted husband of Julie (Parisella). Loving brother of Bishop John P. Abdalah of Westborough and his late wife Joanne, and Janet A. Shadid and her husband Very Rev. Donald E. Shadid of PA. Son of the late William G. and Nora (Kanan) Abdalah. Beloved nephew of Mollie (Kanan) Feeney as well as many late aunts and uncles. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
