Erlynn A. “Bud” Olberg, age 87, of Barnum and formerly of Hibbing died Tuesday, February 25, 2014, peacefully in his home. He was born December 9, 1926, in Warren, MN the son of Arthur and Ellen (Andersen) Olberg. He attended school in Middle River, MN. Bud was a veteran of the US Army and the US Air Force serving in the US and Japan during WWII. He was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Monroe in Duluth in 1963.
Bud worked as a truck driver for Reserve Mining, and was owner/operator of Ole’s Sanitary Service in Babbitt, and Green Again Lawn Service in Hibbing. He was a member of the Open Door Church in Hibbing, the Full-Gospel Businessman’s Fellowship International, and the VFW Post #8510 in Hibbing. He enjoyed snowmobiling and watching baseball.
Bud is survived by his wife: Barbara; two sons: Mark A. Olberg of Barnum, and Todd A. (Pamela) Olberg of Hibbing; four sisters: Sharon Kilen of Middle River, MN, Kathleen Christopherson of Middle River, Geraldine (Gerald) Rudd of Holt, MN, and Ginger (Bruce) Smith of Colfax, WI; three grandchildren: Joshua McElveen, Christopher Olberg, and Keely Olberg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Wallace, Roger, Myron, and Darold; a sister: Carolyn; and two infant daughters.
