Ennio Cestaro passed away peacefully on February 22, 2016 at his home at The Woods At Canco, Portland, Maine following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born in NY City, NY. On August 15, 1930 to Goivanni and Maria Chiappetta Cestaro. They lived in Barre, Vermont during his youth. Ennio and his family migrated to their native Italy from 1938 through 1947, unable to return due to World War II. During that time, Ennio attended the Brocchi Collegio and the Vitorelli Business Institute to further his education.

Following his return to The United States, he resided in the North End of Barre, Vermont with his family. He eventually met his future wife, Diana Masi. Thoughts of marriage were put on hold however, as Ennio served in the US Army during the Korean war conflict. He utilized his fluent Italian speaking to participate in military intelligence during his enlistment. Following completion of Top Secret Military Clearance, Ennio spent his tour of duty as a classified specialist Italian Exchange Liaison Leader.

In 1954, he returned to Barre, where he continued the courtship and eventually married his wife of 61 years, Diana Masi Cestaro. They resided at 48 Railroad Street, in the heart of the ethnic North End of Barre. Ennio was very successful in the private sector, starting as an Office Manager for Milgolla Machinery Corp., and progressed to Assistant Controller for Jordon Milton Machinery. From 1966-1984, Ennio was the Chief Production Planner for Rock of Ages Capacitor Corp.
