Emma E. Butler of St. Leonard, MD, died Friday, October 21, 2016, at her home. She was 69 years old. Born in West Chester, PA on August 12, 1947, Mrs. Butler was the daughter of the late Hall King Pepper and Grace Enza Perry Pepper. She was a 1965 graduate of North Caroline High School near Denton. For the past 32 years, she has lived in St. Leonard where she worked for the Calvert County Board of Education as a Teacher’s Assistant. She was a member of the Waters Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Butler is survived by her husband, Stewart L. Butler of St. Leonard; one son, Hall Butler and his wife Nancy Kuo; a daughter, Kendra English and her husband Scott; five grandchildren: Seth English, Colin English, Tess English, Zachary Butler, and Claire Butler; and a sister, Mary Pepper of Baltimore, MD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Helen Garrett and Catherine Enza Pepper.
