Emilie S. Preyer, 75, of Wiscasset, passed away at her home on the morning of January 9th 2011. Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 21st 1935, she was the daughter of Stephen and Ethel (Clark) Angell. Emilie grew up in New York City, where she would eventually meet her husband, Charles Preyer. Together they would start a family, living mostly in New York, but also in several other cities before moving to Wiscasset ten years ago. She loved singing and was very proud to have been a part of the opera chorus for Aida in Kansas City. Wherever she was, she was very involved in the community; she had acted as a chaplain at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, and most recently was a very active part of the Wiscasset High School. She was a substitute teacher at the high school but also took part in many different extracurricular activities there. She was predeceased by her parents; as well as a daughter, Beverly Ann Preyer. She is survived by her husband, Charles Preyer of Wiscasset; a daughter, Carolyne Ambrose and her husband Richard, of Nashville, IN; grandson, Christopher Irish and his wife Susie of Nashville, IN; as well as a great-grandchild, Camille May Irish.
