Elvin Leonard Lind was born in Falun Township, Roseau County, on February 19, 1917 to Albert and Anne (Helmer) Lind. He attended school in District 112 in Falun. He was a farmer all his life; first in Falun and later Cedarbend Township. His hobbies were fishing and deer hunting.
Elvin Lind and Lola (Otto) Hemmingson were married on April 2, 1955 in Moe Lutheran Church, Roseau, by Rev. A.C. Rykken. They celebrated their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary in April.
Elvin was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Evelyn, Emelie, and Florence; brother Alfred and a still born baby brother. Also a step-daughter Marlene (Hemmingson) Ehlers.
Elvin is survived by his wife, Lola, his nieces Ivadell Carlson, Rochelle Martinez and his nephew Allan Janicke and many others.
Elvin passed away on Friday, August 12, 2005 at the Greenbush Nursing Home where he has resided for the last three months. Elvin suffered with emphysema for the last 30 years.
