Elva Kathryn Polacek Struttmann, 96, of Rhineland, MO, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at her home.
Elva was born in Portland, Missouri on October 20, 1921, a daughter of the late Joseph & Alda (Heying) Atterberry.
On April 9, 1941 she was united in marriage to Charley Polacek. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1945 while serving our country in World War II and fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. On December 7, 1948 she then married Theodore “Ted” Struttmann in Hermann, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1994.
Elva retired in Feb. of 1990 from Frene Valley Nursing Home in Hermann, Missouri, after 25 years of service.
Elva is survived by two sons, Charley Joe Polacek & wife Beverly, of Jefferson City, Missouri; and Wayne, Struttmann & wife Karen, of Rhineland, Missouri; by two daughters, Marie Blaue, of Montgomery City, Missouri; and Helen Feger, of Mexico, Missouri, by eight grandchildren, Christine, LaDonna, Teresa, Tracy, Angie, Mike, Robert “Mule”, and Heather and by nine great grandchildren, Leslie, Rebecca, Noah, Adam, Logan, Landon, Emily, Steven, and Haley, and by two great-great grandchildren, Dalakai and Lealand.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother, her two husbands Charley Polacek & Ted Struttmann, and two daughters Carolyn and Cynthia.
