He then married Dolores Benedict in June of 2004. He was the parts manager for Harvey Cadillac in Grand Rapids before his retirement. Surviving are his wife, Dolores Boufford; 5 sons, Robert (Patricia) Boufford of Ionia, Fr. Thomas Boufford of Newaygo, Edward (Peggy) Boufford of Sparta, Joseph Boufford of Ypsilanti, and John (Cheryl) Boufford of Harrisville; 4 daughters, Mary Gray of Quincy, Elizabeth (John) Pruitt of Grand Rapids, Joan (Dennis) Senchuck of Sault Ste. Marie, and Helen (Dorr) Bissell of Ionia; 3 grandchildren, Michelle, James (Heather) and Christine Gray; 2 great grandchildren; step daughters, Cindy Smith, Mary Ziegler-Stearns, Janice Schell, Marsha Packer, and Joanna Hodges; 2 step grandchildren, Sgt. Eric (Heather) Johnston, Colin Johnston.
