Elizabeth Hammerback, 90, of Warren, MN, passed away on Wednesday evening, April 12, 2023 at North Valley Health Center in Warren with her family by her side.
Elizabeth Irene Jorgenson was born on July 14, 1932 (along with her twin brother, Eugene) in Argyle, MN, the daughter of George and Clara (Bjornsness) Jorgenson. She was raised on the family farm and she attended country school. Elizabeth later moved to Warren. On August 10, 1985, she was united in marriage to Charles Hammerback. Elizabeth did daycare for neighborhood kids and her grandchildren and she also worked at LaFond’s Cafe for several years.
She enjoyed baking, dancing, exercising, quilting and shopping. Elizabeth especially liked to take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Charles Hammerback of Warren, MN; daughters, Darlene (Dale) Pagnac of Argyle, MN and Carolyn (Neal) Stechmann of Roseau, MN; daughter-in-law, Diane Johnson of Warren, MN; nine grandchildren, Brad Johnson, Ashley Anderson, Kayla Anvary, Allen Pagnac, Chris Johnson, Miranda Bakken, Mathew Seidel, Tanner Stechmann and Isaac Stechmann; eighteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Elaine Benson of Grafton, ND and Eugene (Marlene) Jorgenson of Argyle, MN; sister-in-law, Edvina Jorgenson of Menomonee Falls, WI and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Susan Seidel; son, James “Jim” Johnson; sister, Harriet (Clarence) Westlin and three brothers, Lawrence Jorgenson, Earl (Leone) Jorgenson and Clifford Jorgenson.
