Eleonora
(Augustans) Rampans, of Dedham, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on

Born on August 18, 1928, she fled war-torn Latvia with her parents, and her late, brother in 1944, during World War II.  After living for some years in displaced person’s camps in Germany and Czechoslovakia she and her family emigrated
to the United States in 1949.

Settling in Boston, she became very active in the Latvian community. In particular, she enjoyed; singing in the Boston Latvian Choir, attending Latvian religious, cultural, artistic, patriotic, fundraising, and social events. One of her favorite vacation spots was the family cottage at the

Avila Parish since moving to West Roxbury in 1972. A devout Catholic, she was a life-long member, and final secretary/ treasurer of the Latvian Catholic Association of Boston.

She worked for 30 years at the John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston. She was happiest surrounded by
her family, (often to watch Jeopardy). Keeping up with current events, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, and feeding the birds, deer, and all the other wildlife at her home, she enjoyed life to the fullest, even in her golden years.

Eleonora was
the loving mother of Edward Rampans and his wife Lisa Ann Prestella-Rampans of Dedham.
Wife of the late Stanislaus Rampans. Dear sister of the late Walter Augustans. She
is also survived by many loving cousins, and other relatives in Latvia, with whom she has faithfully kept in contact with .
