Mrs. Thelen was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Westphalia, and the Christian Mothers. She was active on the family farm with her husband, Alfred and enjoyed baking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred in 1998, a brother, John Smith, a grandson, Gerard Thelen and a granddaughter, Erica Thelen. Surviving are her two daughters Genevieve (Fred) Martin of Westphalia, and Mary Ann (Bruno) Cook of Fowler; two sons, Roger (Bernice) Thelen of Fowler and Larry (Jeannette) of Westphalia; 19 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren.
