Eleanor Anderson Cumberlidge, 78, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.

Eleanor was born on September 8, 1940, in Monroe City, MO the daughter of Robert and Darlene (Jackson) Bown. 

Eleanor was first married to Ken Hopkins and she later married Ivar Anderson on February 14, 1976, in Darien, IL, he preceded her in death on May 28, 2014.  Eleanor later married John William “Bill” Cumberlidge on September 25, 2016, he survives her.

Other survivors include her children, Greg Hopkins and wife Suzette, Mimi Nolan, and Juli Verrant and husband Jeffrey; brother, Dick Bown (Kathy), and Jerry Bown; sister Beverly Utterback (John); grandchildren, Antonio Hopkins (Meghan), Robert Rushing, Daniel (DJ) Nolan, Kylie Nolan, Tera Verrant, and Joey Verrant (Kate); great-grandchildren, Lincoln Hopkins and Robert (Jack) Rushing; and several nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her first husband, Ken Hopkins and second husband, Ivar Anderson.

Eleanor graduated from Hannibal High School in 1958.  At the age of 18 she moved to Chicago by herself to attend X-Ray Tech School.  Upon graduation, Eleanor worked at area hospitals as an X-Ray Tech and Medical Transcriptionist before retiring from the Marion County Health Department.

Eleanor loved and cherished her family and was always there to support them in any event or activity they were involved in.  Eleanor was a strong believer in and loved the Lord.  She had a strong circle of friends that she would take delight in having coffee with, Bible study and prayer meetings with several times a week.  Mrs. Cumberlidge was a member of Arch United Methodist Church and recently was attending Standing On the Rock Ministry with her husband Bill.
