Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Portland, as well as St. Mary’s in Carson City. She was active with the American Cancer Society (Relay for Life), was a member of the Portland Fire Department Womens Auxilary and volunteered at Ionia Area Hospice. Elaine enjoyed sewing, crocheting and playing cards. She was preceded in death by her father. Surviving are her husband of 41 years, James P. Miller of Crystal; children, David Miller of Grand Rapids, Sandy (Russ) Decker of Portland, Daniel (Norma) Miller of Portland, Susan (Dan) Humphreys of Portland and James II (Rock Kauffman) of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Amber, Adam, Steven, Keith, Zachary, Ashley, Taylor, Norma, Emily, Miya, Erica (Phil), Danna and Jennifer; great grandchildren, Trenten and Tia; mother, Mabel Smith; siblings, Ken (Marie) Smith, Steve (Debbie) Smith, Doug (Connie) Smith, Kathy (Tom) Russman, Annette (John) Pohl and Darrel Smith; 9 brother and sister-in-laws; numerous nieces and nephews.
