Elder, Edwina Voss, “Nina” (nee Duane)
Suddenly on June 17, 2014, Nina born 3-30-36 at age 78 passed away at Shady Grove Hospital following a fall at Asbury Retirement Village, Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Prior to suffering a stroke while vacationing in Florida 2009 Nina had resided at 4108 Great Oak Road, Manor Club, Rockville, Maryland.
Nina was born and raised in Kennet Square, PA and was a preschool teacher in Montgomery County.
Nina graduated from Pine Manor Junior College, Boston, 1958.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Owings Elder Sr. (d 9-15-13) and devoted mother of their late son Stephen Voss Elder (d 1996).
She was the beloved mother of her son Richard Owings Elder, Jr. and his wife, Ginny and grandmother to Stephen and Max Elder of Arnold, Maryland.
She will be missed by both her sisters, her twin Polly Applegate of Wilmington, Delaware and Kitty Stryker of Bonita Springs, Florida and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is also survived by Betty and Charles Elder of Hydes, Maryland. June and John of Hampstead, N. Carolina, Frances Baldwin of Catonsville, Maryland and Barbara Elder of Medford, Oregon.
Nina was predeceased by her brothers George, Sam and her sister Suzie.
