Edwin Rasmusson, passed away Friday – July 28, 2006 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. He was born to Alfred and Tilde Rasmusson on Oct. 26, 1918 on the family homestead four miles west of Pine Creek, MN. He attended Groveside School in the same area through the eighth grade. He also had his first job during those years, every morning during the winter months he would walk to school to fire up the old wood stove so it would be warm when the teacher and kids came to school. For his work he was paid the large sum of $5.00 a month.
Later on, he worked in the pulp woods in Greany, MN. In 1952 with his parents and brother he moved near Badger where he started farming. He also worked as a carpenter locally as well as in Bismarck, ND and in Minneapolis, MN. In the early 1970’s he purchased a backhoe and worked for neighbors as well as others in the area.
He was an avid outdoorsman, that loved to trap and hunt, he was so busy that he never married.
Edwin was a firm believer in the Bible and spiritual things and in 1941 at a convention in St. Louis, MO he dedicated his life to Jehovah God by water baptism.
He is survived by one brother, George of Badger, MN; two sisters, Isabelle Almond of Grafton, ND and Ann Hunter of Crystal, ND; nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
