On Tuesday, November 15th, Edwin John Johnston, a brother, uncle, and friend passed away. He was fifty-nine. Born to Albert and Linda Johnston on June 23rd, 1963 in Warroad MN.

He grew up playing hockey and working at the Johnston Mink Ranch with his dad and brothers. After graduating from Warroad High School in 1981, he worked at the Forestry and during the winter months worked on crab boats in Florida for nearly ten years. Ed was a hard worker. He was skilled in carpentry and concrete and worked in these fields the bulk of his life.

Ed was best known for his quick-witted humor, kindness and willingness to help others. He had a love for wood working, a true artist at his craft. He enjoyed being outside, gardening, hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He especially loved his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his siblings, Theresa (Robbie), Jeff (Kara) and their daughters; Abigail (Jon), Jade (Evan) their daughters Layke & Saylor, & Madison (Kevin) and their daughter Avery, Albert (Jill), Colleen (Steven) her son Jonah & her grandson Ivan Kittelson, Elizabeth (Pete) and their sons, Alex (Gretta) & Mason. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Linda, his brother Dorrance, and his nephew Jordan Kittelson.
