Age 73, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014. He was born on July 8, 1941 in Westphalia the son of Edward and Roseanne (Thelen) Bengel. Ed was an avid U of M, Detroit Tiger and Detroit Lion fan. He enjoyed fishing, trips to the casino and reading the State Journal everyday. Ed retired from the State of Michigan after many years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law Justin Thelen and Charles Ray Myers. Surviving are his children Melissa Bengel and Luke (special friend, Beth) Bengel; former wife, Kathy Bengel; siblings Elaine Thelen, Don (Zoah) Bengel, Bill (Carolyn) Bengel, Phyllis Myers, Suzanne (Peter) Lansing, Kathy (Wayne) Brigee, James (Donna) Bengel and John Bengel; many nieces and nephews.
