Edward Faw Brown, 76, of Cambridge passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was born on February 4, 1937 in Cambridge and was the son of the late Albert T. and Alice Kelly Brown.
Ed attended school in Cambridge. He owned Brown’s Salvage Yard in Cordtown, then Ed Brown’s Engine Rebuilders and Automotive Machine Shop across from the airport on Bucktown Road. On October 19, 1970, he married the former Nancy Jones.
He loved racing cars and competed many years at Delaware International Speedway, Georgetown Speedway, Reading, Pennsylvania, Bridgeport, New Jersey, Hagerstown Speedway and Tasley, Virginia.
Ed is survived by his wife Nancy Jones Brown of Cambridge, his son Edward A. Brown (Cindy) of Eden, two daughters Tammy Marie Smith (Bill) of Cambridge and Donna Lee Gray (Wylie) of Cambridge, two stepsons Walt Pritchett (Denise) of Hudson and Thomas Jay Pritchett of Bethany Beach, DE, five grandchildren Tiffany Mowery (Pat), Fred McGlaughlin, Katie Reid (Jeremy), Christian Gray and Brittney Baker (Scott), two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister Mary Cannon of Cambridge and a brother William Wayne Brown (Lynn). Besides his parents, Ed is preceded in death by a brother Kelly Brown.
