Edward David, 81, of Hingham, formerly of West Roxbury, passed peacefully on February 14, 2021, following a long illness.
Ed was the dear and devoted husband of 49 years of Laurice (Maloof). Loving father of Caroline O’Brien and her husband Stephen of Chestnut Hill and Anne L. David of Brooklyn, NY. Cherished grandfather, “Jiddo,” of Bailey and Matthew O’Brien. Dear brother of Kenneth and his wife Verna, Lawrence and his wife Denise, and dear brother-in-law of June (Saba) David. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his brothers Samir and Albert David and parents Tofick and Mary (Dolabany) David.
Ed loved learning and at his heart was both a student and a teacher. He was incredibly proud to be a Boston Latin School graduate (Class of ‘57) and was active in alumni support for many years.
When not focusing on his patients or community, Ed enjoyed living by the water in Hingham, where he and Laurice resided for over 45 years. Ed loved sailing and many summer days he could be found on his boat with his daughters, friends, or even by himself, quietly enjoying one of his many books from his extensive personal library. Ed was also an accomplished woodworker and created much of the beautiful furniture in his home and often created custom pieces for family and friends.
Ed’s greatest pride was his family life. He was incredibly generous and hospitable to all who came into his home.
Ed was incredibly proud of his daughters, his son-in-law, and grandchildren; and loved sharing their professional and personal accomplishments.
