Age 80, passed away on Monday February 2, 2009. He was born on April 22, 1928 in Portland the son of Eugene and Dorothy (Burhans) Zimmer. Earl retired from Motor Wheel in Lansing in 1988 after 42 and 1/2 years of service. He loved driving around the countryside. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Florence Hoppes and Kenneth Zimmer; granddaughter, Ashleigh Zimmer and a son-in-law, Denny Fox. Surviving are his wife, Bertha “Joyce”; children, Brenda Fox, Bruce (Anne) Zimmer, and Brent (June) Zimmer; 2 grandchildren, Adam Zimmer and Aaron (Fiancee Casey Schneider) Zimmer; brother-in-law, Robert Hoppes, Sr.; several nieces and nephews.
