Dushan, “Duke” Tintor, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Thursday, February 9, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born June 7, 1925, in Pool Location the son of Eli and Helen Tintor. He attended Hibbing High School. A Veteran of the US Navy, Duke served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. Duke was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Herling in 1966 in Hibbing.
Duke worked for a short time at US Steel, and then spent the majority of his career as a Foreman with Erickson Lumber in Hibbing. He would also build fences in his spare time. He enjoyed watching sports, doing yard-work, and tinkering in his garage.
Duke is survived by his wife: Barb; his children: Sherri (Rich) Lees of Hibbing, Krista Tintor of Eagan, and Aron Tintor of Hibbing; his sister: Olga Dobric of Hibbing; four grandchildren: Sarah, Brooke, Richie, and Andrew Lees; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Floyd and Mike; and his sisters: Donnie, Mildred, and Lenka.
