Dr. Ronald Arthur Anderson passed away on July 3, 2022. 

He was born to parents Evelena and Arthur Anderson, in 1938 in New Jersey.   Dr. Anderson graduated from Augsburg High School in Germany.  After high school, Ron enlisted in the Army and after active duty and reserves, retired from the military as a Chief Warrant Officer. 

Dr. Anderson became an educator, teaching for most of his career for Prince George’s County Public Schools.  He taught history and geography and coached football and track.  After receiving his doctorate in Education from the University of Maryland, Dr. Anderson also began teaching at Trinity College in Washington DC.  When he retired from PGCPS, he was serving as an Assistant Principal at Northwestern High School.  He continued his education by becoming a Master Gardener and was a member of Beltsville Garden Club. 

He was known for his dry sense of humor and extensive knowledge of history.  He enjoyed wearing his Balmoral hat and was even known to sport a kilt.  He loved using what he learned as a Master Gardener to help friends and family with their gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Mason; sister, Jacqueline; former wife, Elizabeth Scheiman; daughters, Rene and husband Roo, Kathy; Tessa and husband David, and Lora; 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  

He was predeceased by his parents, Evelena and Arthur, siblings, Dean, Mike and Shelley and late wife, Ellen.
