Born in Baltimore, Mr. Wissel was the son of Joseph Edward Wissel and Jean Baker Wissel. He had graduated from the Easton, MD High School and had worked in heating and air conditioning.
In addition to his father, Mr. Wissel is survived by his wife, Michelle Wissel of Baltimore; three children: Kelsey McMumm, Warrick Wissel, and Riley Wissel; one brother, Mark Wissel; and two sisters, Sharon Sharp and Deborah Wissel.
