Dorothy Jones Scalzo of Greensboro, MD, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, February 6, 2017, at the home of her daughter. She was 92 years old. Dorothy grew up with 5 siblings on a farm in Waldron, IN. All six children and their parents, Ray and Madge Jones Scalzo, were Purdue University graduates. Dorothy met her husband of 55 years, WWII Army veteran Michael A. Scalzo (who passed in 2000), while both were attending Purdue (math major “Dottie Peaches” was out on the dance floor dancing and future aeronautical engineer Mike was conducting his band and playing the trumpet…he got down off the bandstand and started jitterbugging with her…and the rest is history!).
