Dorothy Louise (Nelson) Landreville, age 93, of Virginia, MN, passed away December 17th in Edgewood Vista. Dorothy was born May 21, 1929.
Dorothy was an artist, loved animals, collected dolls, loved travel and desserts. She enjoyed her annual adventure to Las Vegas to celebrate her birthday.
Dorothy loved painting, specializing in portraits. Several of her paintings are displayed at the Virginia Regional Hospital. She taught art classes during summer months and looked forward every year to enter her works in the St. Louis County Fair.
For many years, Dorothy enjoyed collecting antique dolls and prided herself on her many types of dolls. She also repaired antique dolls and sewed clothing, using materials from the era to match the doll and restore as authentically as possible.
Dorothy was a child of the depression era, never shy about sharing the many stories of her family’s struggles. She was a life long learner and especially enjoyed books about American History and nostalgic movies from the past.
Dorothy was the last surviving sibling of her family. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Oscar and Hilma Nelson; her brother, Frederick Nelson; and sisters, Nancy Hendrickson and Annabelle Smith.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Daniel (Dawn) Isaacson, Patrice (John) McKone, and David (Lynn) Isaacson; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grand children; and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Frederick; daughter, Susan; and her husband, Gerald; along with her beloved cats, Hiding and Tippy.
