Ms. Dorothy “Dot” Helen Ely age 86, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. She was born November 28, 1934 to Horace and Mihaly Ely in Vancleave, Mississippi. Dorothy has been a lifelong resident of Mississippi and was a member of North Gautier Baptist Church for over 7 years. Dorothy had a passion for everything outdoors. She loved to fish, crab, and she walked everywhere she went putting countless miles on her feet.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parent, Horace and Mihaly Ely; sisters, Hazel (Elmar) Bang, and Agnes (Red) Waltman.
Left to cherish her memories are, Shirley (Larry) Hopstein of Gautier, Mississippi; brother, Horace (Candy) Ely of Gulfport, Mississippi; sister, Betty Joyce Ewingh of Alabama; special friends, Annie Howard and Janet Reed; many nieces and nephews, and all the ladies at Gautier Senior Care.
