Dorothy “Dot” Hackmann Shirley, 83, of Hermann, MO, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016, at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri.
Dorothy was born in Morrison, Missouri on May 22, 1933, a daughter of the late John Young & Mary Young-Rikard.
She was united in marriage to Oliver W. Hackmann, who preceded her in death on September 18, 1983. She then later was married to William Shirley on January 7, 1989. William preceded her in death on November 25, 2003.
Dorothy was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She worked at Kellwood as a sewing machine operator until retirement.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Diane Baur, of Hermann, Missouri; and Imogene Strother & husband Thomas, of New Haven, Missouri; a son, Rick Hackmann, Sr. & wife Donna, of Hermann, Missouri; by two sisters, Jean Hawkins, of Eureka, Missouri; and Janet Young; a brother, Mavin Young, of Eureka, Missouri;
a step sister, Clara Fricke; and a step brother, Douglas Rikard, by 17 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her step father Clarence Rikard, her husband, a daughter Mary Carey, and a brother John Young.
