Dorothy Alberta Harman, 86, of Gig Harbor, WA, formerly of Steelville, MO passed away Saturday, January 31, 2009 in Gig Harbor, WA. She was born October 25, 1922 to Esmar and Pearl (Hatcher) Hendrix in Steelville, MO. On November 24, 1941 in Steelville, MO., Dorothy was united in marriage to Harry Lee Harman. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1993.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Roger Harman and wife Mary of Gig Harbor, WA; one brother, Bill Hendrix of Bourbon, MO; three sisters, Juanita Pennock and husband Benjamin of Steelville, MO, Carmeleet Pennock and husband Zane of Eldon, MO and Glenda Hendrix of Park Hills, MO; three grandchildren, Christina Harlin and husband Bruce of Platt City, MO, Shelley Evers and husband Buck of Sandusky, OH and Matthew Harman of Gig Harbor, WA; four great-grandchildren, Jake, Katie, Joshua and Nathan; other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry, one son, Philip Lee Harman, one brother, James Hendrix, one sister, Linda Hendrix, four brothers-in-law, Tom, Jewel, Claude and Sam Harman, and four sisters-in-law, Elsie Carter, Velma Weber, Grace Smith and Hazel Watts.
Dorothy had worked at Brown Shoe Company in Steelville for thirty-five years.
She had attended the Assembly of God Church in Steelville for many years.
