Dorothea Ann Smith
Westphalia, Michigan
Age 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015, with her family at her side. She was born on July 26, 1927 in Westphalia, MI the daughter of Hilary and Bernita (Simon) Snitgen. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Christian Mothers Guild, the Daughters of Isabella and the Rosary Group. The family also would drive around Crystal, Rainbow or Hidden Lake. One of her greatest pleasures was preparing for the hummingbirds. When they came to the feeder she would try to remember to say a silent prayer, asking Our Lord to take her entire family in His hands and keep everyone safe. Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Fred Snitgen; infant brother, Larry; son-in-law, Robert Harr; great grandson, Grant Dunham. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Melvin “Muff” Smith; children, Larry (Virginia) Smith, Ann (Jim) Fedewa, Darlene (Harr) (Gary) Allen, Mary Lee (Jerry) Klein, Melanie (Gary) Pline, Joe (Pam) Smith, Linda (Pat) Feldpausch, Jack (Cheryl) Smith, Gail (Keith) Weber, and Jay Smith; 29 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; siblings, Bernadette Thelen, Eileen (Edward) Spitzley, and Therese Thelen; in-laws, Rose (Les) Feldpausch, Pauline Feldpausch, Agnes Schomisch, and Adeline (Bernard) Feldpausch; uncle, Ted (Mary Jane) Simon.
