Doris T. Purdy, 85, of Berger passed away Tuesday, September 1st, 2015 at St. John’s Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri.
Mrs. Purdy was born in New York , New York on March 30, 1930, the daughter of the late George and Ella (Cronk) Newman.
She is survived by her husband Arthur F Purdy who resides in Berger.
Doris stayed home and raised the children as they grew up. Every younster in town knew her as Nanny, and as they grew older they called her Mom Purdy. Most of all she just loved be around the grandchildren and great grandchildren, and one of her favorite passtimes was scratching Lottering tickets.
Doris is survived by six children Donna Castelli of Arnold, Arthur T. Purdy & wife Becky of Stony Hill, Rosey Brown & husband Wayne of Mount Enterprise TX, Michael Purdy & wife Tressa of Hermann, Maureen (Tootsie) of Jefferson City & Vanesse (Mutzie) Hunter & husband Terry of Berger, 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons Steven & Dennis Purdy and three siblings Mary Marinaccio, James & Rencelear Graham.
