Doris June Grissom Webber, 84, of Gautier, MS passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018.
Mrs. Webber was born November 15, 1933 in Knoxville, TN and moved to Gautier in the mid 50’s with her husband and children. She was a graduate of Fulton County High School. She was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Gautier. In 2008, Doris was the recipient of the Gautier Men’s Club Citizen of the Year Award.
Mrs. Webber was “Nanny” not only to her family, but also to the numerous children she cared for in her home for close to 60 years that passed through her loving doors. This is where she took many hands, opened a multitude of minds, and touched innumerable hearts with her loving care.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Pearl Grissom; her loving husband of 60 years, Joseph Carl Webber, daughters Carla Sue and Vivian Jean Webber Gager.
She is survived by daughter, Jonez Rochelle Webber Howell (Andy Howell) of Thomastown, MS; two sons, Henry Clay Webber (Vickie) of Gautier, MS, and Roy Eugene Webber (Beth) of Kosciusko, MS, brothers, and sisters. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and many loved nieces and nephews.
