Age 79, passed away on April 1, 2007. He was born on June 26, 1927 in Westphalia, the son of Herman and Caroline (Platte) Trierweiler. Don graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Westphalia and later retired from Pewamo-Westphalia High School after 30 years of working general maintenance. He was also a farmer who served in the Air Force during World War II. Don was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Parish and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He enjoyed playing bass horn in the Westphalia Band for most of his adult life. Don is preceded in death by his brother Robert. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Germaine; daughter, Susan (Larry) Simons of DeWitt; sons, David of Lansing, Gary (fiancee Monica) of Westphalia, and Timothy of Frankenmuth; 5 grandchildren, Chad, Scott, Jakob, Gregg, and Ana; 3 great-grandchildren, Austin, Lawrence, and Eric; 2 brothers, Stan (Dorothy) and Gerald (Jeanette); sister, Joann (David) Spitzley; and sister-in-law, Eileen Trierweiler.
