Donald Richard Niemi, age 65, longtime resident of Hibbing and Floodwood Lake died Monday, March 5, 2018 in his home. He was born January 8, 1953 in Grand Rapids, MN the son of Seffrie and Jessie (Cockman) Niemi. He was a graduate of Hibbing High School. A veteran of the United States Navy, Don served during the Vietnam War.
Don worked as a truck driver most recently for Hoover Construction. He enjoyed his restored Ford Mustang, and going out for coffee and meals at the local coffee shops and restaurants.
Don is survived by his brother: Byron (Rita) Niemi of Hibbing, Foster-brothers: Bob Paulson of Swan River, MN and Tommy Porter of Duluth, MN, nieces: Raina (Rich) Copenhaver of Missouri, and Carie Maki of Hibbing, and numerous extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
