Donald Lawrence Larson, Sr., age 68, of Grand Rapids and formerly of Minneapolis died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at his home with family at his side. He was born June 13, 1944, in Hibbing, the son of Oscar and Anna (Armstrong) Larson. He attended Hibbing High School. He was united in marriage to Irene Vukich in Chisholm.
A veteran of the US Army, Donald served during the Vietnam War. He worked as a carpenter on many various projects. He was a member of VFW Post #8510 in Hibbing, the Range Riders ATV Club, the Over the Hills Club in Outing, and the ATV Club in Hill City.
Donald is survived by his children: Donald L. Larson, Jr. of Grand Rapids, MN, Tandy (Richard) Tetteh of Grand Rapids, MN, Jody Larson of Michigan, Amanda Gillum of Hibbing, MN, and Jesse Larson of Duluth, MN; a brother: Albert Dean Larson of Cincinnati, OH; four grandchildren; and a special friend: Mary Koski of Cloquet, MN.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Irene; his son: Derrick; and his brothers: Wilbur, Otto, and Marvin.
