Donald J. Houska, 74, of Jefferson City, MO, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016 at his home.
Donald was born and raised in Hermann, Missouri on March 19, 1942, a son of the late Thomas & Florence (Rulle) Houska.
He was married to Alice Eldringhoff on August 17, 1963, at St. Martin’s Church, Starkenburg, MO.
He graduated from St. George in Hermann in 1960. Following graduation he worked at General Motors and Lenox Plastics. He opened the Antique Mall in Hermann.
Don enjoyed going to casinos, to Las Vegas, traveling the caribbean and hunting with his friends.
Donald had a love of sports which started by coaching his son’s baseball teams and when Brian was finished playing all of his attention went to his daughter Lisa, from watching her play to supporting her as a coach. His jokes and sense of humor will be deeply missed.
Donald is survived by his wife Alice of 53 years, his children, Brian Houska & wife Janice, of Rhineland, Missouri; a daughter, Lisa Houska-Dey, of Jefferson City, Missouri, four grandchildren, Brady Houska, of St. Louis; Brett Houska, of Rhineland, and Taylor & Bailey Dey, both of Jefferson City.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Bob Houska.
