Bath- Donald J. Brassard, 76, of Denny Road died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
He was born in Brunswick on September 2, 1934, a son of Wilbrod and Alice (Forigere) Brassard.
He attended Brunswick schools and entered the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, serving aboard the U.S.S. Sage mine sweeper. He was employed for the government at the Brunswick Naval Air Station, retiring after 31 years. On August 30, 1980 he married Alice Anderson and was employed at Roger’s Hardware for 11 years.
He was a three time past commander of the American Legion Post 21 in Bath.
He enjoyed puttering, fixing things, going on trips and cooking.
He is survived by his wife, Alice L. Brassard of Bath, two sons, James Brassard of West Bath and William Brassard of Augusta, one daughter, Ann Friedman of Salam, MA, one stepson, William Anderson and his wife Cynthia of Brunswick, two stepdaughters, Debra Wilkey of Bath and Susan Collier and her husband David of Arrowsic, one brother, Robert Brassard of MA, one sister, Irene Galbrase of CA, many grandchildren and step grandchildren, several great step grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Earl Brassard and George Brassard.
