Dr. Donald Hess Anderson, age 91, of Holt, formerly of Portland, passed away at home Monday, October 18, 2004. Dr. Anderson was a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving as a physician in New Guinea, the Philippines, where he was awarded the Bronze Star, and South Korea. In 1946, he opened his family practice in Portland, and in 1980 he received a Distinguished Citizen’s Award from the Portland V.F.W. Post # 4090.
