Donald Frederick Schmitz, age 86, was called to be with Our Heavenly Father on May 22, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Louise (Schafer); his children, Dale (Faye), Linda (predeceased) (Terry, Celia Bradley), Steven (Cindy), Karen (John Seefeldt), William (Tracy), and Anne (Jeff Branch); his thirteen grandchildren, Emily, Diana, Donald, JC, Jennifer, Kaitlin, Robert, Evan, Kyle, Jacob, Bailey, Michael, and Ashley; and one great-grandchild, Aili. Donald was born to Peter and Catherine (Feldpausch) Schmitz of Fowler. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Westphalia, St. Joseph Society, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a devout man of faith and committed to his family.
