Donald “Don” Eugene Crabtree, 73, of Bridgeton, MO was born July 15, 1937 in St. Louis, MO and raised at Davisville, “Pucky Huddle”, MO. He passed away at DePaul Medical Center in Bridgeton, MO on Wednesday, June 8, 2011.
Beloved son of the late Clyde and Adeline Crabtree; beloved husband of over 50 years to Juanita Crabtree (nee Howdeshell); loving father of Nancy Preuss and Connie Kaiser; dear brother of Bob (JoAnn) Crabtree and Carol Lingle; and dear grandfather of Katherine, Makenzie, and Victoria; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Lefler and Anna Mae Biggs and husband Kenneth all of Overland, MO, Ruth Ogle of Steelville, MO, Mildred Conaway and husband Paul of Cuba, MO.
Preceding him in death were his sister-in-law, Daphna Callahan and husband Versel; brothers-in-law, Eddie Lefler, Bob Ogle, Noel Howdeshell and wife Helen and Elbert, Treff, Dwight, Kenneth and James.
He was a dear friend and family member to many. Don was always respected and admired for his work ethic; he retired in 1991 after 36 years from McDonnell Douglas and returned as a consultant for The Boeing Company and retiring again in 1999 after a long career in aviation technology. He continued to work part-time the last 11 years as a starter at Berry Hill Golf Course. He was an avid golfer, skilled bowler, and dinner table comedian. His loving and giving manner and ever-present smile will be dearly missed.
