Dolores L. Toivonen, of Aurora, born on February 20, 1927, died peacefully at the age of 86 on Thursday, August 29, 2013, at the Virginia Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Dee was born an Iron Range gal in Orr, MN, then moved about the state and Eau Claire, WI and lastly, in their lovely home in Aurora, MN.
Dolores was very active in Cub Scouts while living in Duluth. She received two national awards for her amazing dedication to the Scouts. She was also Vice President of the P.T.A. at Ordean High in Duluth.
She worked for 9 years in Fine Jewelry at Montgomery Wards in St. Paul, MN and spent the rest of her life as a wonderful home-maker, with the best decorating sense and a potato salad that was legendary.
Dolores is survived by her best friend and loving husband: William; son: George (Shari) Toivonen of Babbitt, MN, daughter: Lauri (Bob) Sieben of Eau Claire, WI; sister: Lucille (Stephen) Stepec of Ely, MN; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, James, parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
