Dennis Michael Hronek, age 83, of Gautier passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Singing River Hospital. He was born February 28, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio and has been a longtime resident of Gautier. Mr. Hronek was a former employee of Dixie Glass in Pascagoula, Safe Light in Mobile and a Pipefitter for over 30 years at Ingalls Shipbuilding.
Dennis devoted many years to Dixie Girls Softball League in Gautier with all four of his daughters as players from 1978-1992. He was a former President, Coach, Equipment Manager and Umpire.
He was an active member of Elks Lodge # 1120 in Pascagoula and participated in a lot of activities with the Lodge especially as a Bingo Caller. Dennis was a Parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gautier since 1978. He was an avid Blood Donor to our local community and active in numerous dancing clubs along the Gulf Coast.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Elaine Hronek; wife of 38 years, Gwen Tench Hronek; daughter, Rebecca “Becca” Hronek Stacey; 3 brothers and 3 sisters, Jim, Larry, and Robert Hronek; Georgene Swislocki, Doris Mae Kitko, and Patricia Roberts.
Dennis is survived by three daughters, Stephanie Tagert (Vince), Vancleave; Melanie Martin (Mike), Pascagoula; Amber Noah (Mike), Canton, GA; loving Papaw to Michael Tagert (Jennifer), St. Martin; Sara Martin, Marietta, GA; Matthew Tagert (Dominoe), St. Martin, MS; Michael Martin II (Rebecca), Northport, AL; Mitchell Tagert, Kennesaw, GA; one great granddaughter, Adaleigh Tagert; brother, Donald Hronek and sister, Donna Garkowski; and numerous other relatives and friends.
