Delphia LaReita (Farmer) Price, 78, of St. James, MO, formerly of Steelville, MO passed away Friday, March 20, 2009 at her home. She was born May 31, 1930 to Willis Kimberlin Farmer and Mary Colin (Shelby) Farmer in West Helena, AR. On October 18, 1951, she was united in marriage to Carroll David Price who preceded her in death on June 26, 1974. She later married Paul Edward Ponder on July 21, 1984 and he also preceded her in death on December 8, 2002.

Delphia served her country in the U.S. Army from 1949 until 1952 and had served in the Korean War.

She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #6479 of Steelville and was a volunteer for delivery of meals for the Golden Age Center in St. James.

Delphia was an avid bird watcher and always was prepared with her bird book and binoculars on the kitchen counter.

She loved her family and her children felt as though she was their best friend.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her one son, Christopher Price and wife Daisy of St. James, MO; three daughters, Alyson Price Zahringer and husband Kenneth and Adriene Green all of Columbia, MO and Lela Moffatt and husband William Charles of Edgewood, NM; one step-son, Carroll David Price, Jr. of Hilton Head, SC; one step-daughter, Charlotte Merten and husband Bill of Houston,TX; one brother, Jack Farmer and wife Sara of Steelville, MO; one sister, W. Aileen Hendricks of West Chester, OH; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carroll and husband, Paul.
